This is David Avellan and I am having a
fantastic day! I feel so great that I want to let you in on
an important tip of success that I use on a daily basis. I
hope that you are reading this blog entry before you do anything
else today, as what I’m about to tell you will have benefits
that will echo throughout the rest of your day.
Before I tell you anything, I want you to tell me something.
Tell me that you are living the best day of your life. Right
now – don’t worry I have great hearing :). Say the following
out loud, “Today is the best day of my life!”
I use this everyday while training at my MMA gym in Miami, FL.
Did you just say it because I told you to? Or did you mean
it? Say it again, this time really mean it. Pretend that if
you can convince me that you are having the best day in your
life, I will award you with $10 million dollars cash.
Visualize what the best day of your life would be like. What
would happen, how would it feel? Then make the commitment
that today is going to be that day. Now say it again, “Today
is the best day of my life!”
Now, how did that feel? Good right? The more you say it, the
more you will believe it. The more you believe it, the better
you will feel. The better you feel, the happier you will be!
What you just participated in is the power of positive
affirmations. Positive affirmations are the positive
statements that help build confidence and reassure yourself
you are fantastic and are capable of handling any obstacle
in your path. Here are some more examples of positive
“I am the best student in my class! I work harder, study
longer and practice more than anyone else.”
“I am patient and understanding. I work my way through the
most difficult situations with zen-like patience.”
“I have great potential. I am gifted with great attributes
and am constantly becoming a better and more effective
What is wonderful about positive affirmations is that you
can make your own very easily. Whether your goals are to
become a great athlete, student, employee or parent, you can
use the power of positive affirmations to help bring about
your full potential. So start affirming yourself now! How?
Well, there are many ways of using positive affirmations. My
favorite way is to write down one positive affirmation
repeatedly, at least 10 times. Before I write it, I will
visualize my positive affirmation in my mind. I want to live
it out in my mind – feel what it is to be my best and enjoy
it. Then I will write it out on paper and as I am writing it
I will have my visualization in my mind.
Your next question, when do I do this? Any time you want! I
like to do it right when I wake up. I keep a small journal
by my night stand that I write in everyday. I also like to
use affirmations just before I am going to attack my goals.
For example, use positive affirmations just before: taking a
test, training in a class, or starting work. It will get you
in the right frame of mind before performing those important
tasks. So start using positive affirmations and fulfill your
